Design Consultation

During a design consultation we will review the areas of your home that you wish for us to focus on.  Measurements will be taken, as well as digital photos to be used for future reference.  We discuss with you your needs, wishes, desires and concerns about the space, and try to determine what your unique style is.  We will discuss paint color, furniture placement, window treatments, lighting and accessories.  We look at ways to highlight the architectural assets of your home.   We also discuss how to incorporate your existing furniture and accessories into the final plan in order to create the most cost-effective makeover possible.  Within one week you will be mailed a fully detailed and comprehensive design plan created just for you.  The average consultation lasts between
1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Home Staging for Resale

Do you have a home on the market or plan on selling a home in the near future?  Staging  your home is a wise investment that is sure to yield future profits.  Popular TV Shows such as Designed to Sell and Get it Sold focus on effective ways to increase the value of your home to potential home buyers, by highlighting the home's assets and improving the aesthetic appeal.  Now you can bring HGTV's expertise into your own home!  Let C.H.I.C.'s President, Sherry Tyra, Assistant Interior Designer for HGTV's Designed to Sell, help you create that "wow" factor by showing you easy and cost-effective ways to transform your home.  Studies show that professionally staged homes sell faster, attract more buyers and command a higher selling price.

Some facts about home staging:

The National Association of Realtors found that staged homes are on the market 13.9 days as opposed to 31 for non-staged homes. NAR statistics also indicate that staged homes sell for an average of 6.9 to 10% over listing price.

"Good staging is effective because when potential buyers walk into a house, they carry with them all their hopes for their new life in the new place...how they feel in the home ultimately gets reflected in the sales price and number of offers.  Prestige, love, dreams, all the common denominators that we all have as human beings, are at work in the home purchase...the staging maximizes, intensifies all those feelings."
